The World Needs You by Dr. Samuel Ekundayo is one of the best books I have read in recent
times. It shares life changing secrets to becoming a person of value. I was immediately drawn to
the book from the first chapter. Dr. Samuel
draws eight things from the case study's life that can help an individual become a person of value.
This book helped me realise the importance of understanding your uniqueness. Dr. Samuel mentions “If you don’t know who you are, you will be trying to live your life like
somebody else every single day”. He takes the example of the case study who because he knew and was clear about who he was, continually rejected all the other
voices that were telling him something else.
One of the craziest mind blowing quotes I encountered from the book was “Until you can define
who you are, you will never become a person of value”. This really blew my mind because many
young people (including myself) walk so confidently thinking we are a person of value but when
questioned if we really know who we are and what our purpose is, we struggle to give a succinct
answer.
Further on Dr Sam continues to speak on the Discovering Purpose, Adding Value to People,
Being Consistent, and most importantly Growing Daily.
This book helped me understand that becoming a person of value is success. The world does
not need time wasters but people of value who are intentional and can withstand voices telling
them who they should be because they already know who God has created them to be.
One of the ways I’m applying some key principles from the book is being intentional and
consistent, as humans we have days where our emotions, body and mind take the better of us
but when we are intentional about growing through all that, we are walking towards becoming a
person a value and of course, the world needs me, because I am valuable!
Thank you Dr Samuel. I am immensely blessed to have read this book.
